Buxton is renowned for its Georgian and Victorian architecture; there is a beautiful blend of green spaces, culinary delights and shops, all within a mile of the property. The Pavilion Gardens are sat right in the heart of the town, as is the Devonshire Dome and Opera House. Local ales can be enjoyed at the Buxton Brewery and some of the local brew houses. Just a mile from the cottage, find Go Ape and Pooles Cavern, one of the most impressive Derbyshire caverns. A stroll through Buxton Country Park from Poole's Cavern leads to the summit of Grin Low and the Victorian viewing tower of Solomon's Temple where you can enjoy the views of the Peak District.

The property itself is presented to an excellent standard, covering two floors. The sitting room has two large sofas and a Smart TV, ideal for letting you wind down after a day’s exploring. There is an en-suite in the king-size room and a shower room shared between the two double rooms.

It would be helpful to have had a wardrobe in the main bedroom, especially given that there were 3 bedrooms but with only one wardrobe between them. Similarly a coffee table to put drinks on in the living room would have helped. The location with respect to the town was good but the outlook on to a large old house which looked like run down apartmRead moreents plus an adjoining building linked to this and our property didn't give much privacy nor was esthectically pleasing. Very nice property and location. To note, a loose toliet seat in main bathroom and oven hadn't been cleaned at the bottom. For future perhaps a small outside table and chairs for nice weather.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Thorn Heyes cottage- its in easy reach of some great pubs (especially loved the Old Sun Inn) and restaurants near the Market Square. The property was warm and comfortable and the bedrooms lovely and quiet. Off street parking was also a bonus. The owner was very helpful and prompt in answering queries.

Lovely property, very modern, clean and very well equipped. Good sized rooms - the third double room is very tight but is fine if like us you are only using the room to sleep. Lots of homely touches making it very comfortable with enough room for us (3 couples and a dog). Lovely open plan kitchen; all new crockery and very well equipped for cookingRead more meals. Located a short walk from Buxton town and a good location for exploring the Peak District with quick access to the major roads. We would recommend this property without hesitation. Hide

I have sent a separate email with a list of several issues with the property: broken or missing bathroom locks, broken shower door handle, kitchen knives hidden in an inaccessible cupboard, freezer not properly installed, dead flowers and out-of-date milk in the fridge etc.
